Assessment Rubric



Rubric for assessing students’ writing
Level 3

Title
Title is original and reflects the topic of the paragraph. Content words are capitalized and function words are lower case.
Title is appropriate but it partially reflects the topic of the paragraph. It contains no or some capitalization errors.
Title is a complete sentence with a period.
Title does not reflect topic of the paragraph.

Topic sentence is clear and correctly placed; it is restated in the closing sentence.
